THE EDITION OF DETROIT, MI — 2010
Detroit’s diverse culture has had both local and international influence, particularly in music with the city giving rise to the genres of techno. However, Detroit has been suffering the urban decay. In 2010, its population fell to the lowest since 1910.
American independent film maker Jim Jarmusch cited Detroit as the Paris of the Midwest and was visually and historically drawn to its musical culture, industrial culture and post-industrial visual feeling. By the same token, UNDUN pays homage to this city by keeping the style true, natural and stark. The style of EDITION 2010’S is inspired from workers’ shoes and scenes from rave parties in Detroit.
